How did it all start?
"Leemmou"🍋 born three years ago, started with a simple love for fashion. No formal training, just a passion!
Sketched clothes, picked fabrics, and worked with my favorite tailor. It all began on an Instagram page, sharing designs. Soon, orders poured in, and Leemmou started crafting personalized clothes for people.
Insights💡
In Tehran, wearing long outerwear (mantoe) is mandatory for women.
Mantoes are primarily designed for outdoor wear and are not considered fashionable.
Based on my primary research, 7 out of 10 people expressed dissatisfaction with the mantoes they owned and felt that wearing them did not allow them to express themselves.
Solution? 🤔
"How might we design a fashionable and expressive alternative to mantoes that remains functional for everyday wear in Tehran?"
In the making ✏️
A "mantoe" is a type of outerwear, designed to cover both the arms and the buttocks. Through research, I discovered that one of the most suitable shapes for this purpose, while also aligning with modern fashion, is the kimono, originally from Japanese culture but now embraced worldwide. I began by sketching a kimono and refining its design to meet the specific needs and preferences of my target users.
The next step would be bringing life to this kimono since all the existing mantoes were rather plain and lacked character.
My solution? mixing patterns.

It all started as a simple idea to create a more beautiful and unique outerwear piece. I took that idea and turned it into this stunning kimono. As I began sharing my creations on Instagram, the response was incredible. People loved the concept and the various patterns I used. This led to the birth of a small business, where I continued to craft and share these stylish kimonos with different patterns, turning my passion into a venture.
